I was compelled to create this board after yet ANOTHER child was ripped to pieces by pit bulls: FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — The father of a toddler killed by the family’s pet pit bull has a strong warning about the breed. Jeremiah Rutledge said his family has not returned to its Sierra Trail home in south Fulton County since his 2-year-old son Beau was killed on April 24. “He was a very playful person, and loving, he had the prettiest smile. He had two dimples right here,” Rutledge said. A pit bull that had been a part of the family for eight years lunged at the toddler while his mother was in the bathroom. Rutledge was at work when he got the phone call from his wife. He rushed home and tried to go inside the home. “I was trying to get in but the cops, they were fighting me, they were saying, ‘No,’” Rutledge said. Police shocked him with a Taser to subdue him, something he would later understand when he learned of the gruesome scene inside. “How do I go from a birth certificate to a death certificate?” Rutledge said. He said his faith is getting him through, but he offers words of caution for those with small children around pit bulls. “Those dogs cannot be domesticated. They cannot,” Rutledge said. www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/father-toddler-killed-familys-pit-bull-offers-warn/nXzwd/

I agree with the man, “Those dogs cannot be domesticated. They cannot,”
Had a supposedly very tame loving pit wander into my yard and clamp down on my Schnauzer's head. The pit wasn't fazed in the least and let go when HE was ready...after me screaming for help for about 10 minutes. The pit's owner was so sorry her sweet doggie did that bad thing. But the judge find her and she had to pay the emergency vet bill. I never go outside without my pepper spray now.

I think it's important to understand that no matter how much we try to humanize animals, they are just animals. It's impossible to hold them to the same values that we live by. Pit bull breeds can be extremely loyal animals to their owners and I'm sure there are thousands of cases where these dogs are great family pets. Nevertheless, they seem to harbor a sparky temperament that makes them impossible to fully trust. I know I would hate to have a dog that growled at me if I looked at it funny. I'd stick with a husky, corgi or even a boa constrictor that shot laser beams out of its fangs before I got a pit bull.

The first thing out of pit bull lovers' mouths is "oh it's the owner's fault". That's of little comfort when the beast is ripping your throat out

Murder charged in Calif. dog pack mauling death LOS ANGELES (AP) — The owner of four pit bulls that killed a woman jogger in a gruesome mauling was charged with murder Thursday in a highly unusual case that strained the memories of law enforcement officials to find comparable uses of the felony murder law. Alex Jackson, 29, was charged after DNA tests on his dogs found blood on their muzzles and coats that matched that of Pamela Devitt, 63, who died after being bitten 150 to 200 times by his four pit bulls. "The DNA came back with blood on the dogs that matched the victim's blood," said sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore. news.yahoo.com/murder-charged-calif-dog-pack-mauling-death-190724722.html?.tsrc=yfpnewsapp

I was on the way home from work one day several years ago. I turned onto my street and a county sheriff department cruiser was parked in front of my house with its lights on. I drove up to my driveway and at my neighbors house across the street was a full grown horse laying dead in their driveway. Two roaming pit bulls attacked and killed one of their horses. A few days later the pits were back in my neighbors yard and they never left alive. BANG BANG
