A number of churches that previously sponsored Boy Scout troops have said they plan to sever ties to the organization following its decision to lift a longtime national ban on admitting openly gay Scouts. Openly gay adults will still be barred from leadership roles in the organization. "I think I can say with pretty strong accuracy that the vast majority of Southern Baptists are very disappointed in the latest change in policy ... deeply disappointed," Frank Page, president of the Southern Baptist Convention's executive committee, told ABCNews.com. The Southern Baptists, along with other phony christian *churches*, are allowing their tax-emempt hatred of other humans to interfere with their alleged claim of doing good.
This does nothing but reveal the phoniness of the SBC.

Do you really think that the people of this country, let alone the world, are going to stop reproducing/evolving due to less than 5% of the population being homosexual? Methinks you would feel differently if you had a gay son or lesbian daughter. Knowing married lesbians with three children, I have seen a very loving family with super healthy kids of both sexes. Compare that to the trashiest of our people, or the psychological child-abusing families? Is that better?
The younger folks don't give a damn, have gay friends, and don't even blink. So we are evolving!

The problem is that we currently straddle a generational line where an older, more conservative population is afraid that the slightest change will bring about some sort of hedonistic apocalypse while a younger, more socially liberal is either promoting acceptance or flat out just not caring. Frankly, it's a little untenable but I see that change is inevitable. I don't seek to impede progress on any level and issues like this mask or confuse much larger issues that our country has to deal with. It's not the gays I'm worried about any more than the fundies.
